Bishops Castle

The other day I took another trip down the road to a little town called Bishops castle, a small little village with a few little shops situated up the high street pictured below.

As soon as I got there I found some yarn bombing! Which I have only ever seen on Pinterest, & I have to admit is so cool!

I came across a little deli.

& this beautiful little shop full of the most gorgeous fabrics!

I have my eye on some Tibetan necklaces & kiln blankets!

Wedding Wear

So naturally summer brings a lot of weddings. I have three. Three! So this means I have to scout out new dresses, shoes, accessories etc. as I have the same people going to each wedding so I can't wear the same thing, hmph. Luckily I had an email from Zoe at Victoria Dresses asking if I would like to collaborate.

Couldn't have had better timing!

After having a nosey on the online store I picked out a few dresses that I would wear & how I would style them for a wedding this summer.

Victorias dress has a lovely selection of Formal dresses, Evening dresses, Cocktail dresses etc. that even spands onto wedding dresses & bridesmaids wear.

Have a look yourself & pop over to:

The Cornmill

On Sunday me & Matt were sat at home wondering what to do. We thought we would go to my mums & make her some tea but upon arrival decided why not get out of our little hometown & go for a meal. We got in the car & road tripped to a place called Llangollen, a touristy part of Wales which is home to an old fashioned steam train & railway which does trips around the mountain. Unfortunately we arrived at 7'oclock on a sunday so there was no way it would be open. Maybe next time.

We went to a little restaurant hidden down a lane which is called the Cornmill. It is situated next to the river which is perfect for a hot summer day to sit outside on the decking & listen to the river rush & drink a nice cold cider.

It's a beautiful place which is both old & modern. Inside it is three levels which all lead off into different areas of the restaurant. It is crammed with old, mismatched furniture, & vintage pictures dominate every space on the walls. The floors are home to big cosy rugs & in one part of the restaurant there are windows on the floor that look down into the mill & the running water below. It truly is a beautiful little place.

We started off with some prosecco to drink & then decided on starters.

Matt had Air dried beef with a potato & garden salad dressing.

My Mum & stepdad both had beetroot soaked salmon with garden salad & clementines.

& I had roasted asparagus with hollandaise sauce & parmesan.

For mains we devoured:

Matt, the sea bass with roasted fennel & a pesto dressing.

My mum, chilli lime prawns & noodle salad.

My stepdad, a portobello mushroom burger with sweet potato fries.

& I had beer battered cod & chips. I was so hungry I didn't want anything fancy just food food food haha!

We then ummed & arred over dessert & decided yes!

Matt had a dark chocolate torte with a port soaked cherry dressing.

My stepdad had a traditional cherry bakewell tart with custard.

& I went for my favourite... WAFFLES!

I adore waffles. So when I saw caramel waffle with salted ice cream & strawberries I had to have it!

After all the sweetness we decided to have our drinks outside.

We sat by the river as the sun fell behind the hills as we sipped our ports, tonics, & cognac.

Matt camera shy as always.

If you are ever in the area of north wales Llangollen needs a visit!!
