Reading #1

I have always been a big reader. I always chose books over tv, still do really except tv has been replaced by my laptop. I haven't got a "type" of book as I will read anything, for example, when I was 15 I got really into russian literature & finished Anna Karenina within four days & I loved it! I still can't believe that happened even now when I look at the size of it!
As a child though I was always drawn to fantasy books. I survived on the likes of Peter Pan, Harry Potter (of course) & the Hobbit. Is still do now but as I entered my 20's I find my self gravitating towards books that express style or interior design. Basically a book version of Pinterest.

These have been topping my list lately.

I'll start from the bottom ;)

Parisian Chic

I adore this book! It is of course, styled beautifully inside, gold lined pages that look like a scrap book, filled with polaroids & such. Ines de la Fressange was a model who has put together this book to show how parisians dress, what make up is cute, & all the hip places to go in paris. She even gives an amazing guide on vintage shops in Paris!

It's a fashion guide that gently explains that such items don't go with other items, I'm not really one for being told what not to wear in case it is deemed unfashionable but I have always been drawn to the simplicity of french fashion so this was right up my street!

Cupcakes & Cashmere

This is the first book by blogger Emily Schuman over at Cupcakes & Cashmere. I have followed her blog for so long as I love the "girlyness" of her blog & her content, so it was no suprise that I ordered her book when it came out.

It is a mixture of everything (a mini blog if you will) where she combines, fashion, beauty, entertaining, & baking. A modern day Martha Stewart or Audrey Hepburn if you will. I especially love the tips to building an investment wardrobe which can be used through all the seasons!

Her next book all on interior design comes out next year! I can't wait!

I left this book til last as I feel I had so much to say about it. I picked it up a while ago after reading a spread in Cosmo girl about Sophia & was so inspired by her story I bought the book straight away!

Basically Sophia is the founder & CEO of clothing brand NastyGal.
The book explains her journey from basically being a drop out to the road of her success! It's full of inspiring quotes & it really is a heartfelt journey that she more than deserved & the best part is that she stayed herself all throughout the process. She became a multi millionaire CEO & still shows up to her meetings in Dr Martens & an Ozzy Osbourne top & she isn't afraid to tell people in the industry who are older & more experienced than her who look down on her where to go.

This is by far the most inspiring biography I have ever read! & if you don't finish it feeling on fire like you want to kick ass & start up 10 billion businesses right away then you have missed something!

It just goes to show that hard work & determination go a looooong way!

Also I have added my iPad on top of this file as I have been (finally) reading:

 Game of Thrones.

It's the first book I've ever read that's not on paper & I can't quite get used to it (I keep tapping normal books waiting for the pages to turn..)

I'm only on the first book & I am hooked! I can't believe I didn't read it sooner! It's a sexy medieval drama that has swift plot turns & does keep you on the edge of your seat! I am glad to find out that there are about 7 books in this series which suits me as I never really want a good book series to ever end!

If you like Lord of the rings & Harry Potter you will love this! Give it a chance, go on! ;)

(If you want to have a look for yourself, I researched where to find the cheapest ones! Just click on the "Buy Here")

& so there we have a few of my favourites! Anyone have any recommendations for me?
